Veterans Resources

Veterans have earned benefits that can honor their service at the end of life. We can help your family understand and request them.

Eligibility and the DD-214

Most benefits require proof of service, usually the veteran's discharge papers (DD-214). If you cannot find them, copies can be requested from the National Archives.

Bring what you have, and we will help with the rest.

Eligible veterans can receive military funeral honors, including the folding and presentation of the United States flag and the playing of Taps.

Families can also request a burial flag and a Presidential Memorial Certificate.

National cemetery inurnment

Cremated remains of eligible veterans can be placed in a national cemetery at no cost to the family, along with a government headstone, marker, or niche cover.

Spouses and some dependents may also be eligible. The VA can confirm eligibility in advance.
